Ask Ur Vet

A veterinarian, when you need one.

Ask a question, message back and forth, chat live or book a video visit with a licensed veterinarian you choose — at the price they set.

Four ways to get help

Each veterinarian decides which of these they offer and what each one costs.

Ask a question

Describe what’s going on and get a considered written answer within the time your vet promises.

Messaging

An ongoing thread for follow-ups, rechecks and the questions that come up between visits.

Live chat

Talk it through in real time when you’d rather not wait.

Video visit

Show your vet what you’re seeing — the gait, the rash, the breathing — face to face.

Advice for anyone. Treatment from your vet.

Veterinary medicine has a rule for good reason: a diagnosis or a prescription comes from a veterinarian who knows the animal. Ask Ur Vet follows it.

General advice

Education and guidance — is this normal, what should I watch for, does this need a visit — is open to any owner, with any participating veterinarian.

Telemedicine

Diagnosis, treatment plans and prescriptions are offered only by a veterinarian who has a veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) with your animal. Where an animal’s state allows a video exam to start that relationship, a vet can offer one — and we only offer it where we hold the state’s rule and its source.

For veterinarians: your practice, your prices

Participation is optional and individual. You opt in from your veterinarian dashboard.

Your own rates

Set a price for each service — or offer one free. Change it whenever you like; requests already made keep their price.

Subscription plans

Monthly or yearly plans with included questions, messages, chats or video visits, for one animal or a whole household.

Paid directly

Owners pay your own payout account. The platform fee is taken at the time of payment, and shown to you on every consult.

Not for emergencies

If your animal is having trouble breathing, is bleeding heavily, has collapsed or may have been poisoned, go to an emergency clinic now.
